PATTERNS
The bracket system of elimination will be used. The competitors will compete head-to-head, performing their patterns at the same time. The winner will advance to the next round. Black Belts will perform one pattern of your choice.

SPARRING
1. Sparring Gear Requirements.
All competitors must have foam style hand, foot and head gear. Also each competitor must have a mouthpiece and groin cup for males.

2. Continuous Style of Sparring.
Two-minute rounds for black belt divisions and one minute, thirty second rounds for color belt divisions. Corner judges will total their scores at the end of the match. In the event of a draw, warnings will be evaluated to determine a winner. If match is still a draw, center referee will decide winner (color belt). A draw in the black belt division will result in a thirty second overtime round. If match is still a draw, winner will be decided by a sudden death round.

3. Points
One point will be awarded for: Hand technique to middle or high section or kicking technique to middle section.
Two points will be awarded for: Kicking technique to the high section, jump kick to middle section, jump hand technique to high section.
Three points will be awarded for: Jump kicking technique to the high section.

4. Scoring procedure.
Light contact to the body and head is allowed. Contact is not required to score, but points will be given only for correctly delivered techniques with proper re-chamber
.
5. Legal target areas:
Forehead to chin, side of head, chest, abdomen, armpit to waist.

6. Illegal target areas:
Neck, throat, top of head, back and all areas below the belt.

7. Illegal techniques:
Blind techniques, open hand, knee strikes, elbow strikes and sweeps.

8. Warning.
One point will be deducted after the 3rd warning for any combination of the following offenses: attacking an illegal target, stepping out of the ring (both feet), falling, excessive force, holding, pushing, grabbing, avoiding sparring, illegal technique.

9. Fouls.
One point will be deducted for the following offenses: Unsportsmanlike conduct, attacking a fallen opponent, attacking after referee gives stop command, any kind of injury to opponent, excessive force.

10. Disqualification.
Ignoring instruction given by referee, attack causing injury to opponent and inability to continue the match, committing three fouls of any kind, committing two fouls of the same nature.

11. Coaching.
Coaching is not permitted during matches unless indicated from a tournament official. If coaching is granted, both fighters must have a coach present

BREAKING
Power breaking will be grouped by age and size, not rank, and will also be separated by male and female. Power breaking will consist of power side piercing kick. Breaking competition will be done in rounds; competitors that do not make a complete break will be eliminated from competition. Competitors may measure, but can not touch the boards while measuring, and only one attempt may be made to break. Boards must be completely separated. Competitors have only: 30 seconds from guarding block to break to guarding block.
